Transfer Process

Dear Prospective Student:

We are thrilled to hear that you are interested in having your son transferred to Cardinal Hayes High School. For mid-year transfers, we typically begin to review applications in early November. For Fall transfers, we begin to review applications in early May. All applications are considered on a rolling basis.

Transfer Process:
  • To be considered for an opportunity you must submit the following documents before being scheduled for an interview. 
  1. Recent Transcript: Please obtain your most recent transcript. This transcript should cover the most recent academic term and provide an overview of their grades and any New York State Regents Exams the student has taken. 
  2. Letter of Recommendation: At least one letter of recommendation is required for transfer applicants. The recommender should be a teacher who has taught a student in a core subject (English, Math, Science, History) during the current academic year or the previous year. 
  • Once documents have been reviewed, the admissions team will reach out and schedule an interview with selected faculty and administration. After the student has completed the interview process the Admissions team will advise on the next steps for registration. 
Registration Process: 
  • The following documents are needed and should be submitted once the student has been accepted: 
    1. Birth Certificate 
    2. Updated Physical
    3. Immunization Record (No yellow cards) 
    4. Social Security 
    5. Registration Fee $800 (Cash, Check, Card, or Money Order)
