July 2025
To the Cardinal Hayes Community, It is with immense honor and profound privilege that I address you today as the newly appointed Principal of Cardinal Hayes High School. As a lifelong resident of the Bronx, the opportunity to lead such a distinguished institution in my home borough fills me with a deep sense of commitment and excitement.
Academically, I am a proud alumnus of several prestigious Catholic institutions: Saint Benedict School, Cardinal Spellman High School, and Fordham University. I taught for seven years as a Catholic school Religion, English Language Arts, and Social Studies middle-school educator.
For nine years I served as Principal of Christ the King School on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx. During my tenure, I am proud to say that we achieved significant milestones: a notable rise in enrollment, extensive renovations to the school building and grounds, and increased test scores across all grades from kindergarten through 8th grade. I also focused on cultivating strong relationships with generous donors and alumni, fostering a supportive community. Navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic as a school community was a testament to our collective resilience and dedication. My unwavering commitment has always been to help students, especially those from the South Bronx, develop strong character and spirituality while achieving significant academic heights.
I am deeply committed to upholding the rich traditions of Cardinal Hayes High School while embracing innovative approaches that will prepare our students for future success in an ever-evolving world. I look forward to working collaboratively with all of you—our dedicated parents and guardians, our talented faculty and staff, Board of Directors, alumni, donors, and most importantly, our promising students—to continue building a vibrant and thriving school community.
It is with deep humility that I follow Mr. Lessa and his legacy of leadership at Cardinal Hayes. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet you in the coming weeks and months. Together, we will ensure that every Cardinal Hayes student reaches their fullest potential.
God Bless,
