Cardinal Hayes mourns the passing of Terence Mulvey

On behalf of our School President, Dr. Michael Carey, our Principal Mr. William D. Lessa, and the Cardinal Hayes High School Community of Learners, we extend our prayers and condolences to the family of Mr. Terence Mulvey, our former Assistant Principal for Student Affairs, who passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Mr. Mulvey was a remarkable man and an exceptional administrator. His work in his role as Assistant Principal for Student Affairs was outstanding. Mr. Mulvey was a man who started every day at Cardinal Hayes High School by attending Mass and he modeled his faith by his life of generosity and concern for others. He was a devoted husband and father and a man who lived a life guided by the principles of his Catholic faith.

During his career as a New York City police officer and later as a teacher in a Catholic school he was driven by a mission to serve others. In his years at Cardinal Hayes High School, he was embraced by the students who he served, their parents, and the entire faculty and staff. Mr. Mulvey will be deeply missed for his selflessness, charity, courage, dedication, and sense of humor. As a community, we deeply mourn the loss of Mr. Mulvey. He will always be remembered by the men of Cardinal Hayes High School and the entire Cardinal Hayes community. May he rest in peace.
