Hayesmen Interning at Related Real Estate Club Visit Hudson Yards
Nine Hayesmen (1 sophomore, 6 juniors, and 2 seniors) were recently given a private tour of the entirety of the Hudson Yards project. Mr. Dennis Ovalle, a graduating member of Hayes's Class of 2001 coordinated with his colleagues and staff at Related Realty and arranged for our young men to meet with some of the most influential people in his field. The students were also joined by program mentor Kenneth Asamoah ‘13.
Our Hayesmen walked through a developing complex at 50 Hudson Yards, and were proposed the possibility of an internship and an influential voice in the development of the existing railyards. They then went to The Edge itself where they took in the greatest sights in the Western Hemisphere. Far more than a singular experience, Mr. Ovalle has developed a fulsome two- week program, which culminates at the end of next week, and promises longer term commitments to the Hayesmen themselves. He was thoroughly impressed by our Hayesmen and their level of commitment to their forward progress through the varying programs to which they will be engaged this summer at some of the nation’s top institutions.
The Mission of Cardinal Hayes High School, a community based in Roman Catholic values, is to inspire diverse young men of the New York City metropolitan area to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. We will accomplish this goal by encouraging students' spiritual and intellectual growth through a rigorous college preparatory program of academics, extra-curricular activities, and personal discipline.
