Cardinal Hayes High School

In full consultation with School administration, The Board of Trustees has the responsibility for setting School policies and maintaining its financial health. The Board also employs and evaluates the President. The Board of Trustees plays an active, strategic oversight role in the affairs of Cardinal Hayes High School, with daily operations resting primarily in the hands of the school leadership team.
The full Board of Trustees meets four times a school year and provides additional support through a series of standing committees. Each board member serves on at least one board committee and most members serve on more than one. Each committee meets approximately four times annually, with the Development and Finance Committees meeting more frequently as needed. The Board of Trustees complies with the highest standards of ethical practices as set forth by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the New York State Charities Bureau.

Board Members are selected based upon diversity of talent and background, willingness to serve and perform the duties required, and prior efforts on behalf of Cardinal Hayes High School. The board is diverse in terms of talent, background and stage of life. What trustees have in common is a devotion to Cardinal Hayes High School and its mission, as expressed through involvement, hard work and generosity.

The Mission of Cardinal Hayes High School, a community based in Roman Catholic values, is to inspire diverse young men of the New York City metropolitan area to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. We will accomplish this goal by encouraging students' spiritual and intellectual growth through a rigorous college preparatory program of academics, extra-curricular activities, and personal discipline.
