About
Board of Trustees

Cardinal and Gold Fund

A separate Board of Trustees has been established to oversee the Cardinal and Gold Fund which operates entirely independent of Cardinal Hayes High School. The objectives of the Cardinal and Gold Fund are to provide financial aid and scholarship support to the students of the School. The Fund also provides funding to cover operational cash flow shortfalls and financial resources for capital improvement projects.
Members of Cardinal and Gold Fund Board of Trustees are also responsible for setting investment policies and to assure that strong operational procedures are in place for complying with donor instructions and gift accounting. All funding requests made by the School to the Fund are subject to a formal documented application and approval process. The Fund Board of Trustees meets quarterly during the school year. Similar to the School Board, members of the Fund Board share a passion for the educational mission of Cardinal Hayes High School and bring a diversity of talent, experience and perspective.

The Cardinal and Gold Fund Board manages the assets of the foundation in compliance with the guidelines of Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and New York Prudent Managed Investment Funds (NYPMIFA) and follows recommended best practices in managing foundation investments as provided by the Council on Foundations.
