The Martin Scorsese Media Center (“MSMC”) is a fully functioning Television Studio and edit bay.  It features a professional lighting grid, voice-over capabilities and a master control room.  The students get full usage of two Sony pmw-ex3 cameras as well as variety of portable lights and tripods.

The Center hosts Channel H News, a weekly video news show covering student activities, achievements and sports reporting.  Participating students are encouraged to go out into the “field” as local reporters conducting interviews with fellow students, faculty members, coaching staff and other friends of HAYES.

The two main courses taught at MSMC are “The Story of Movies” and “Lights, Camera, Action and Editing”.  Anyone that is interested in learning more about MSMC is invited to stop by room 307 and poke their head – except when the “On Air” light is on!

The Mission of Cardinal Hayes High School, a community based in Roman Catholic values, is to inspire diverse young men of the New York City metropolitan area to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. We will accomplish this goal by encouraging students' spiritual and intellectual growth through a rigorous college preparatory program of academics, extra-curricular activities, and personal discipline.
