Right to Life March

On Friday, January 20th, Cardinal Hayes Community of Learners members will assemble at our school and board a bus for Washington, D.C., at 5:30 AM in support of the Right to Life. The students and faculty members will do this in solidarity with the thousands of other marchers in Washington, D.C. There have been close to 60 million abortions since the 1973 Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton cases which is a challenging number to comprehend (it would be equivalent to the entire population of Italy), our goal has gained the support of the Supreme Court, which overturned Roe v Wade. A partial victory for life but a victory nonetheless.

Pope Francis refers to this as a “Throwaway culture” where societal values have been questioned. Let us support those who will march representing Cardinal Hayes High School and those marching in Washington, D.C., as they attempt to restore the legal guarantee of the right to life. Saturday, January 21st, will be a Day of Prayer for the Protection of Unborn Children; many parishes will have special Masses and Prayer Services. If you can’t attend one, please remember to pray on that day to protect the unborn.
