A light shall shine upon us this day; for the Lord is born to us.
Dear Cardinal Hayes Community,
As we pass through the solstice and the darkest time of year, in the most difficult of years, we are reminded of the light. While we look forward to a new day and a new year, I want to acknowledge the light and the hope of this Christmas day.
It is apparent looking back that you are the light. Through the cautious watching and waiting of this past year, the Cardinal Hayes students, faculty, friends, and family have shone brightly. You successfully continued the work and mission of Cardinal Hayes with a determination that is inspirational. Because of your faith, Cardinal Hayes remains the bright light in New York Catholic education.
I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas. I applaud your tireless dedication of this past year and I look forward with great hope and optimism to the light of the New Year.
The Mission of Cardinal Hayes High School, a community based in Roman Catholic values, is to inspire diverse young men of the New York City metropolitan area to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. We will accomplish this goal by encouraging students' spiritual and intellectual growth through a rigorous college preparatory program of academics, extra-curricular activities, and personal discipline.
