Exceptional Children’s Program

(All Years) The Exceptional Children’s Program was established during the 1960’s by Monsignor Vic Pavis, former principal of Hayes. This program is for local group homes of mentally and physically challenged adults. The Exceptional Children’s Program meets in Hayes twice a month on Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Hayes students volunteer their time to serve as guides and chaperones for the adults as part of their community service. Another school that provides students is Mount Saint Ursula. They participate in helping the adults with arts and crafts as well as physical education activities in the gym.
