After leading the Red Storm to a 6-1 win in its season finale against Villanova on Saturday, Tyler Roche has been named to the final BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of 2021.
Roche was superb against the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at Jack Kaiser Stadium, allowing a single unearned run in 6.0 innings of work.  The Bronx native scattered three hits and five walks while striking out a season-high eight batters.
That performance was the latest in a string of stellar outings at home to close out the season for Roche, as the Cardinal Hayes product did not allow an earned run in any of his final three appearances in Queens, a stretch of 16.2 innings.
Roche wrapped his freshman season with a record of 1-2 to go along with and a 3.44 ERA in 12 appearances, seven of which were starts.  He struck out 35 and walked 26 while holding opponents to a .237 batting average.
