Class of 2000 - Leopoldo Benavides

Dear Classmates, It's been seven years since we walked the halls as students at Cardinal Hayes. How time flies. Random
memories pop up in my mind every time I attend the monthly Alumni
meetings at Hayes. I have fond memories of the concert band (we
actually met Regis) and the football team (we had a great season).
One
time, I was walking by my old locker in the first floor and remembered
all the great times I had in my section. In our sophomore year, the
school upgraded the halls with new lockers and for a split second
wondered where the funding came from. Being part of the concert band
and football team, I asked myself again "Where did Hayes receive the
money to purchase the new music instruments, football jersey, and
weightlifting facility?" The current students must be asking the same
question when they are using the new state of art "Duff" football field
or walking by the Monsignor John Graham Fine Arts Wing.
And, the
answer is "YOU," the loyal men of Hayes. Throughout the years since its
opening, alumni of the school and friends of Cardinal Hayes have
donated time and money to Hayes. Now, I am asking you to join your
fellow classmates by making a donation to help keep Hayes as how we
left it and even better. By the way, don't stop there. Come by the
school and see all the amazing changes that have occurred in the last
seven years.
