Hayes Lacrosse Finishes Season With a Loss to St. Joe's
The Cardinal Hayes Lacrosse team suffered a 13-4 loss yesterday. Steven Arias, Pedro Diaz and Brandon Roache all had goals. Senior Maliek Rolle had 13 saves and junior Janiel Almonte had 6 saves.

Chess Team Completes Undefeated Season
The Cardinal Hayes Chess team completed an undefeated season with a win over All Hallows yesterday. Hayes was led by sophomore Erik Martinez and freshman Devyn Flores.

JV Baseball Update
The JV Hayes team is 5-7 as they enter the last week of league play. After a week of rain, they kept sharp by scrimmaging with their own freshmen team at the Yankee Stadium Heritage Field and playing a non-league game on Saturday. The JV lost to McClancy 3-2 in a well-played game. Darren Hiciano pitched well and deserved the win while Joseph Cerda, Jean Carlos Berascoigo, Anthony Polanco, Carlos Cabrera, and Joseph Valentin combined for some solid infield play. Since they began in March, the JV team have been on 22 diamonds in Westchester, the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. They are in third palce in their division and look forward to playing some good ball as they head into the play-offs.

Hayes Lacrosse Loses to Mount
The Cardinal Hayes Lacrosse team lost to Mount St. Michael 7-1 on Saturday, May 12th. Maliek Rolle had 17 saves in goal.

Hayes Track and Field Athletes Deliver at the Freshmen-Sophomore Intersectional Championships
At the Freshmen-Sophomore Intersectional Championships on Saturday, May 12th the following Hayesmen won medals in the throwing events: Sophomore Shot Put - Stephen Cepeda 2nd place with a throw of 41'6". Freshmen Shot Put - Jaelen Vazquez 1st place with a throw of 52'7". Freshmen Discus - Jaelen Vazquez, 1st place with a throw of 131' 3". Freshmen Javelin - Joe Moyston 115' 10".

The Cardinal Hayes Freshman baseball team recently defeated Stepinac 3-0 on May 7th but then lost a game to Mount 3-2 on May 11th.

The Varsity Baseball team defeated Cardinal Spellman in a come from behind victory on Thursday. Even though the Varsity has been having a rough year, their playoff dreams were kept alive with this win.
